The Louisville-based Lady Storm ice hockey team landed on a national rankings list this month. The travel team, with high school-aged players in the Louisville area, was ranked No. 2 out of 19 teams in the 19-and-under women's national rankings at nationalhockeyrankings.com. It's the first time a team from the Heartland Midwest Girls' Hockey League was ranked in a national poll, league president Jeff Stokes said. Twenty teams from eight states make up the league, which formed in 2002. Surrounding the Storm were the Columbus (Ohio) Sting and Colorado Arvada, ranked first and third, respectively.
